It’s September, which means kids are going back to school, but that won’t stop anime opinions from being made. Don’t @ Me returns to slap the homework of 8 more spicy opinions on anything related to anime and manga. Buckle up for it after the cut.
1. The Rising of the Shield Hero not only got confirmed for a second season, but also a third! I’m thrilled about this news. Shield Hero was a solid isekai series that, while nothing absolutely amazing, was able to maintain a consistent level of quality and not suffer the dip that Slime did. I’ve heard good things about the story coming up and I can’t wait!
2. Since Kadokawa has said they want to have one isekai a season, you would THINK that would mean getting second seasons of past hit isekai series like Devil is a Part-Timer and No Game No Life, but so far nothing. Come on guys..it’s an easy lay up and you’ll get maximum good will.
3. Ufotable has said that getting a second season of Demon Slayer is dependent on the fans and sales. The manga has been selling like hotcakes, I think it’s gonna get that second season, I just hope Ufotable is still in the driver’s seat.
4. The news last weekend about the Funimation Dub Actors for DBZ doing a bunch of raunchy voice-overs was surprising, but I doubt anything is going to come from it. Gaffs and gags are common in the dubs. I don’t think this is going to end up the way people, on either side, want it to be.
5. Ane Naru Mono is a great series, and if you haven’t read my post on it, go do that now! What? I can plug my own shit on my blog! DON’T JUDGE ME!
6. Fate/Illya gave out a sneak peak for its *checks notes* fifth season? after the OVA! That’s great, the show is one of the better Fate spin-offs despite some eyebrow raising things.
7. I’m really sorry to say this, but I do think the tragedy at Kyoto Animation probably ruined any chance for that second season of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. I hope i’m wrong, I REALLY do, but I am not holding out hope.
8. I gotta go finish Cannon Busters, it was a pretty good pilot episodes, I wanna see more. I just gotta finish No Game No Life first, and join the cult of people waiting for the second season that is never gonna come…….FUCK.
