Don’t @ Me: Seven of my Anime Opinions: It’s fucking hot in November Edition

Seriously guys, it shouldn’t be this hot this time of year. Welcome back to Don’t @ Me, the place where I give don’t overhype shit and give you my views and opinions on this or that anime thang. Unlike the rest of the planet, nothing important happened in our neck of the wood, but I can still bullshit this, so let’s get into it after the cut.

Anime Flag #1 : vexillology
In god we Simp

1. Sword Art Online Progressive’s anime adaptation has been revealed to be a movie, to the surprise of a few, and ‘eh’ to everyone else. I wasn’t surprised this was happening, but it does feel kinda strange.

2. I mean, if it is just a prequel movie to a full anime series, sure whatever. But Progressive’s entire existence is based on telling the whole Aincrad story, floor by floor, as a sort of ‘extended edition’ to the arc. There is no way they’ll get it all in the movie, so are they planning on just doing a movie series? I mean, that’s fine with me, but I know many people are upset it’s not a whole new season. But hey, it’s more SAO, so I’ll take it.

3. I started my manga readthrough of Quintessential Quintuplets, and it’s been fun reading the story with the full knowledge of how it ends up going. I think I’ll base my blog posts on that too. Seeing the series through the lens might be a fun activity. Also, Miku bestest girl.

4. Couple months back, I threw up my latest housekeeping post which laid out what I wanted to get done before 2020 finished. I blew through it all early! So, I’m going to be searching for some stuff to talk about. I got some manga and light novels to go through, as well as the seasonal looks, and Higurashi. I might start watching Gundam Seed, after I buy that new Blu-ray set.

5. The Journey of Elaina is not going to end up as Anime of the year (and it was the only thing that doesn’t have a cour in 2021 that had a chance), but I am still surprised at the amount of pushback the series has gotten. Could it be better? Course it could, but I like how the show explores life from so many different angles, the good, the bad, the heart-warming, the gut-wrenching, the boring, and the humorous.

6. Volume 3 of Parallel Paradise comes out this week in English baby! Come on!

7. And finally, a word of wisdom: When it comes to hentai, you either die a manga, or get popular enough to be animated by Queen Bee. Which is worse? You make the call.

  1. So far “The Journey of Elaina” is 2 and 2 in terms of happy/sad, excluding the first ep. I am enjoying it but it isn’t up to the level of “Kino’s Journey.” It could get there, I’m just not holding my breath.

It was really amusing when she tried to say she was not beautiful and couldn’t.
