Summer 2021 has ended, and it was a rather mediocre affair. Good stuff, but nothing special. Fall 2021 however seems to be the exact opposite. Some big heavy hitters showing up or continuing. Let’s get into what is on my radar after the cut!
Jobless Reincarnation Second Cour
My initial thoughts: Jobless is my anime of the year so far. If this second cour is as good as the first, then it will walk away with the prize easily. I can’t wait for the story to continue, because apparently things are just getting started.
Komi Can’t Communicate
My initial thoughts: This has been a cult-favorite manga for years now, and looks like it will hopefully be a good anime. I’m confident, but I am aware that we said the same thing about Way of the House-husband too.
86: Eighty-Six Second Cour
My initial thoughts: 86 was solid science fiction, despite being nothing special. It grew on me more and more as the season went on, and I can’t wait to see where it goes next. Very much like with Jobless, I get the feeling that the best is yet to come.
Banished from the Hero’s Party
My initial thoughts: This is my isekai/slice of life/fantasy trash for the season. Will it be good? Maybe? Will I drop it? Probably? Either way, it’s good to have some bad-junk food on the plate.
World’s End Harem
My initial thoughts: The only ecchi/harem anime left this year now that Date A Live IV has been pushed back. It is also the only one with a real possible chance of dethroning Redo of Healer for the top-spot of 2021. I’ve read a bit of the manga, but fell off it ages ago. If this show is able to follow in the footsteps of Interspecies and Redo however, then this is going to be something fucking special. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
