Anime in 2022 promises to be an interesting time with more heavy hitting shows compared to the overall lightness of 2021. I’ll be watching a few, and as always giving my thoughts! As always this list WILL change, as it is based only on the ‘covers’. Let’s see what is on my radar for the Winter of 2022 right after the cut!
World’s End Harem
My initial thoughts: This was pushed back due to production issues, so now it is ecchi’s first gauntlet thrown for 2022! I hope it lives up to the expectations, because there doesn’t seem to be much else going on this year. Redo of a Healer set a high bar, so let’s see if harems of girls can step up!
Love of Kill
My initial thoughts: Kaguya-Sama meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith? I mean that sounds good enough to at least give the show a look. This I feel will either fall apart easily, or be a sleeper hit. Let’s hope it’s the second one!
Saiyuki Reload: Zeroin
My initial thoughts: This seems to be remake of a famous series from the early 2000s. I remember this coming across my desk a few times back then, so I want to take a second look. I wonder if it will be any good?
Requiem of a Rose King
My initial thoughts: This I feel might be the ‘controversial’ anime of the season. Starring a young Richard III who is neither a boy or girl? Yeah I bet ‘the discourse’ will have a few things to say about that. Either way, I’m all here for some interesting castle intrigue involving overly attractive men. I hope it’s good!
My Dress-Up Darling
My initial thoughts: I have no doubt this might be my first drop of the season. I don’t care about romance, but the premise sounds cool, and if it airs more on the comedic side I’ll enjoy it. But I can see myself bowing out even before the three episode. We’ll have to see!

Rose king? Richard III of the War of the Roses. What a messed up civil war that was!
