Don’t @ Me: Six of my Anime Opinions: Pulling up a Chair Edition

It’s Monday which means it is time for this! Welcome back to Don’t @ Me! The place where, like Jason Momoa and his folding chair. I whip it out and get ready for all the rage as I go over my thoughts and views on the anime industry! This week we got rumors, spoilers and other stuff. Let’s get into it after the cut!

  1. The confirmed One Piece spoilers for the next chapter are just *chefs kiss*. I’ve always been indifferent to the whole thing, but I can’t wait for the fucking temper tantrum from the fanbase. Always good to see people not keeping their expectations in check.

2. There has been some rumors about Disney+ securing the streaming rights to the new Bleach anime. It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it has sent people into a tizzy and I can understand why. If it is true, it is decently big deal.

3. What I can say though, is that wouldn’t be surprised that a bidding war will erupt for the streaming rights to popular shonen series. It just feels like that the big companies aren’t going to just sit there and let Sony monopolize the western anime industry.

4. And hey, I got a bet with a friend that Shonen Jump is purchased (or has a significant shareholding stake sold) by a western company in the next five years. That would fucking suck, but I do get a steak dinner out of it.

5. Watched my first anime film (that isn’t a series film) in almost a decade and a half. Was pretty damn good, you can expect thoughts on that tomorrow!

6. Sat down to watch Knights and Magic again with a friend and holy FUCK, is that show just wholesome mecha fun. I was kinda ‘eh’ on going back to it, but so far it has been fucking incredible. It was one of my shows that I watched during my return from the ‘wilderness’, and it holds up.

  1. Congratulations on the thousand post milestone! I hope you’re around to stay: our community needs awesome posts like yours to keep the party going 🙂 It’s also impressive you reached 1000 so quickly: it took me seven years to get to that point!
