One of the best things about watching an anime, or any piece of entertainment is the sleeper hit. The shows that you pick up on a whim and find out you enjoy it quite a lot. This year we’ve had a few of those, with shows like BOFURI and Rent a Girlfriend. And the show we are discussing today can follow in that mold. After the cut, let’s take a dive into the anime series Monster Girl Doctor.
It’s really surprising that the Super Sentai genre, the show that gave the west Power Rangers, hasn’t really transferred over into anime. While there are some splashes like in the Super Robot genre, I don’t think I have seen an anime that is basically that Power Rangers genre. However the anime we are talking today does dabble in that world. After the cut, let’s take a look at SUPER HXEROS!
I’ll be honest here guys. My thoughts on the second cour of Fruits Basket is pretty much the exact same as the first. Everything I said in that last post hasn’t changed, like at all. So instead of just repeating myself, I highly suggest you check out what I said there, because it really does crystallize how I feel about the series right now.
That being said, there are some things I do wanna talk about, so after the image I’ll toss up my thoughts in point form. Please enjoy.
I’ve spoken about the state of Ecchi a bit on this blog. It is a very much a genre that waxes and wanes like the moon. Some years, like 2018 are banners ones, with great series like High School DxD Hero, and How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord. Other times you have years like 2019, where nothing really good comes out. 2020 so far has been a bit of both, with Interspecies Reviewers blowing all of our expectations out of the water, and everything else playing catch up.
One of the other ecchi series is what we are discussing today. So after the cut let’s take a dive into Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time.
Summer 2020 is almost wrapped up, so I’m taking this chance to tell you what’s on my radar for the final round of Anime in 2020! Most of the big hitters have come and gone now, but there are some stuff that really interests me! Though I am going to be a bit harder on what I keep and what I drop. Let’s get into it after the cut!
Super HxEros is a show I really, REALLY want to see dubbed. Dubbed and fully uncensored. Because it is a show that is so over the top and stupid, that a company like Funimation would have a field day with it. No further proof can come from the opening theme. The Tune of the Week is the first opening to the series: Wake up Hx ERO! by Burnout Syndromes!
Summer 2020 is entering the final stages and for reasons I won’t share, I’m an emotional wreck right now. Either way it’s time to check in with what I’m watching and see how we stand. Let’s get into our eight episode check-in after the cut!
Out of all the anime that I thought would get people’s panties in a bunch, I thought it would be Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time. Instead it has gone well under the radar, which is surprising. It’s pretty much NTR: the anime. Either way, the opening theme is fucking catchy. The Tune of the Week is the opening theme to the series: Tsurenaite Yutsu by Yui Ninomiya
Summer 2020 is humming along quite nicely! I’ve returned home to Canada and it’s time to check in on how things are doing anime wise. Three episodes for most series have already come and gone, so it’s time to see what we think!
That’s it..that’s all I got to say this time. Let’s uh…let’s get into it after the cut.
The jury hasn’t even sat down for The God of High School yet. I found the pilot to be just fine, and I’m interested in seeing more, but that’s it. The opening theme is kinda fun though, and full of Crunchyroll product placement. Either way, the Tune of the Week is the theme to the series: Contradiction by KSUKE
