Suzume: It’s an Alaskan BULL WORM!
Well this was a very pleasant surprise! I didn’t intend to watch this film, but fate dropped the chance in my hand and I was glad I did. I am slowly getting into more and more anime films, not just franchise ones. It is expanding my palate and frankly what better way to start than with this newly released flick! Oshi no Ko Episode 1: This, That and The Other Thing
I have made it a strict rule on Shallow Dives in Anime that I do not do episode reviews of anime. This is because I do not think that any singular show can be judged on a specific episode. Every anime, from the most beloved, to the trashiest of trash might have a good or bad episode, but it is only one part of a whole piece. To pass judgment on a series before it has told its entire story is frankly unfair, and something I am not interested in.
Still I am not a fool to think there are some series where a singular episode can be one of significance. While I have never reviewed it, both Darling in the Franxx and Wonder Egg Priority have an episode that completely upends the entire story (and not for the better). I have also made an exception for last year’s Redo of Healer as I found its jaw-dropping cruelty to be worthy of notice. But those are few and far between and I maintain that I will only break my ‘no episode reviews’ rule in only the rarest of circumstances.
This is one of those moments. So join me after the cut as I break my rule for only the second time as I dive into the first episode of Oshi no Ko.

Hey, remember when I said in a previous post that I don’t watch sports anime? How I find them too similar and uninteresting? Well when you have a girlfriend who likes looking at cute anime boys, you end up watching stuff you might not have wanted to. Case in point the series I am talking about today.
