I’ve discussed both The Asterisk War and Chivalry of a Failed Knight on this blog, and I’ve discussed both of them with my fellow blogger Crow. He has been a big fan of Asterisk War, and quite enjoyed Failed Knight. I’ve had my hang-ups with both, but we also knew that when I finished watching we’d have to talk about them. So that’s just what we did! It was a fun back and forth and I hope we can do it again, I hope you will enjoy it as well!

I really wished I had been around and blogging in 2015 when this show came out. What it must have been like watching both this and Chivalry of a Failed Knight at the same time. The jokes, the memes, the discussion. Two shows that are both so similar, and yet so different in terms of quality. I’ve now watched both of them, and it’s time to give my thoughts. For my 2nd year of anime blogging, I finally got off my ass and watched Chivalry of a Failed Knight, a show that had dogged my footsteps for ages. I knew that even after I dished out my thoughts, I would want to talk about it with a fellow blogger. There was no one better than Crow, who has been a big fan of the series for a long time. This conversation discusses the series in general, what it does right, and what it falls short off.

Two Years of Shallow Dives in Anime: Chivalry of a Failed Knight

Today, September 9th, marks the official second anniversary of this blog, which means that it is finally, finally time. Almost since the beginning there have been series that have dogged my footsteps. Shows that have lingered in the back of my mind, gnawing at my soul, telling me to ‘get over it and review them.” Last year, I finally revisited the infamous Shinmai Maou no Testament, putting to bed the long running joke of my hated (now more of a disgruntled respect) of that series.

However there is another series. One that has not yet been reviewed on this blog, simply because I have deeply personal issues that have prevented me from doing so. Issues that, when I honestly think about them, come off as vapid, silly, and frankly dumb. Yet I knew that if I took this blog to two years, that I would just bite the bullet and do it. And here we are.

I am a man of my word.

For months, well over a year now I have said that I would do it. That I would put aside my deeply personal and rather insane reasons for not watching this show. That I would suck it up and just watch what I’ve heard is a decent anime romance. Well…that day has finally come. Join me after the cut as I dive into the series that has dogged my footsteps and haunted my thoughts. This is Chivalry of a Failed Knight.
