Out of the four opening of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, this is probably my personal favorite. Just a great beat and visuals. The Tune of the Week is the third opening to the series: Believe by Nami Tamaki

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Episodes 1-13: The Raid of Heliopolis and The Battle of Orbit
The series we are talking about today has a very special place in my heart. I was a die-hard Gundam fan in my youth, and while I’ve grown distant from it in recent years, there is a strong fondness still there. Gundam Wing was one of my first anime I watched, and I still enjoy it, despite not having aged well. However in the early 2000s, at the tail end of the 4kids-Toonami era, there was another Gundam series that came out. One with a better story, better animation, and some kick-ass music. Loved by many, and disliked by just as much, it is a series that has resonated to this day regardless. Now it is finally time for me to talk about it, so after the cut, let’s dive into the first story-arc of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: The Raid of Heliopolis and The Battle of Orbit!

Tune of the Week(ish) Gundam X’s Resolution
After War: Gundam X is the black sheep of the Gundam Family. The show that almost everyone forgets about, but one that people have a great fondness before. Also it says the phrase ‘nii-san’ so much, that the voice actor who did hates the word now. Opening songs are pretty good too. The Tune of the Week is the second theme for the series: Resolution by Romantic Mode!
Tune of the Week(ish) Gundam Seed’s Invoke
I’ve started watching Gundam Seed again. It’s always been a special series in my heart, thanks in part to the solid opening music, which remains just wonderful. The tune of the week is the first opening of the series: Invoke by TM Revolution!
Don’t @ Me: Eight of my Anime Opinions: Dewbond talks about the stuff he bought/wants to buy edition.
It’s Monday, which means it’s time for this little shindig. Welcome to Don’t @ Me, the place where, like the extreme levels of discomfort I felt at watching the third Berserk movie, I’m here to offer you the devil’s deal with my opinions on anime, manga and the like. I took last week off to celebrate best girl Koneko’s birthday, but this week has no such event. Let’s get into it after the cut.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: The Glory of the Losers: Slimmed down Expansion
As a child of the 4kids-Toonami era of western anime, there are a handful of shows that, despite the handicaps of the time, remain landmarks for that generation. Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, all of them vastly important series that shaped an entire generation of anime fans. One of those of course is Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. It is the series that laid the groundwork for Gundam in the west, and too many of my time, is a fond memory even if far better shows have come and gone since then.
That is the anime though, so what about the manga adaptation? One that decides to add a few story beats and re-design the initial five gundams? How does that hold up? Is it better or is it worse? Well after the cut let’s dive into the manga series Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: The Glory of the Losers and find out!
Tune of the Week(ish): Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory’s Men of Destiny
I was a big Gundam fan in my youth, and I have a great fondness of the franchise. While I am an AU fan at heart (I just can’t get into the UC) I won’t deny that this song and series kicked so much unbelievable ass. The Tune of the Week is the second opening theme for the OVA Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory: Men of Destiny by MIO!
Tune of the Week(ish): Gundam Wing’s Just Communication
Thanks to Irina for reminding me about this theme!
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing might not be the best gundam series, but it’s place among Western fans is marrow deep, having introduced the Gundam (and mecha anime) to this side of the world. I also like to think that it was also the anime that first showed western fans the “anime opening” to the world.
Either way, the music rocks, so the tune of the week is Just Communication by Two-Mix!
