I Heard you Like Lists: Five Anime I don’t really care for

I don’t do negative stuff on Shallow Dives in Anime. There is too much of it on the internet. But that doesn’t mean I don’t call things like it is. I love a lot of anime, but there are some that I just really don’t give a fuck about. This is a list of that stuff, but with thoughts and ideas that I think are fair and balanced. So let’s get into it after the cut.

Best and Worst of Anime 2021: At the Half

Anime in 2021 is halfway over, and it has been a banger of a year so far. Many great shows, a bunch of really good ones, and a few that make you question the existence of god. Now that we’ve reached the halfway point, it’s time to give out my thoughts on what I think is the best, and the worst, of the year so far. This list will no doubt change by the time the end of 2021 rolls around, but here is where I stand! Let’s get into it after the cut.

The Rainbow Connection! Tagging stories with color challenge!

A week or so ago, I was delightfully tagged to take part in a new blogging challenge! It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these, and what better way to end the week with! Much thanks to Meg from A Geeky Gal for the nod!

The Rules:

  1. Share your favorite stories—movies/books/anime/manga/drama/songs—by classifying them on these seven colors’ traits (listed below).
  2. Send this challenge invitation to at least one of your friends. Let them fear your superiority, as you—decide their fate.
  3. Link back to the original post here! And, enjoy!
  • red: passionate, exciting, invigorating
  • blue: peaceful, calming
  • pink: romantic, caring
  • orange: warm, motivating
  • black: mysterious, thrilling
  • green: fresh, unexpected
  • white: random

Sounds quite interesting right? Let’s get into my thoughts after the cut!

Also, I toss the buck to infinitezenith and Irina who I know will have a great time with this!

I heard you like lists: Five anime ideas that I’d think would be cool.

As I’ve said before, the best thing about anime, one of its (many) secret sauces, is the ability to take any idea or concept and make it compelling. Yes there are many clunkers, but when an anime hits it right, it can really hit it right. How many thought a series about working at a burger place would be compelling? The Devil is a Part Timer says yes. An anime about girls fighting with their boobs and butts? Keijo!! says hi. A story about one dude being a bartender? Look no further than Bartender. And the list goes on. But there are some ideas that I think would be really cool that (to my knowledge) haven’t been done yet. After the cut, let’s take a look at five of my own ideas!

I heard you like lists: Dewbond’s got an MAL now!

Hey guys.

I know you all like lists, and it was shocking that after all of the years, I didn’t actually have page on My Anime List! It’s the website considered to be the place to go to rank and discuss anime, and I figured it was time I threw one up as well. This list is still very much in progress, but it is a good idea of where I rank several of the anime I’ve watched. Only a handful of 10s, but plenty that are ranked 9 and 8. I hope you enjoy!

Check out the list here!

I heard you like lists: My Eleven Favorite Anime since Starting the Blog

Hey guys.

A long while ago, I tossed out a list of my top favorite anime and manga series of all time.I do really want to go back and re-do that list, because there has been some big changes, but today I thought I’d do something different. Below is a list of my favorite anime series, manga, light novel, everything since I’ve started blogging. That means no Fate Stay Night, ReZero, Gundam, Date A Live, or High School DxD. This is only stuff that I’ve watched since I started Shallow Dives in Anime. These aren’t in any order (except my number one favorite) so let’s get into it after the cut!

Best and Worst of Anime 2019

Today is the last day of 2019, and the last day of anime in 2019.

The year has not been as good as 2018, but that year was one of the best on record, so it is understandable. Still the year, especially in the back half has delivered some great series, characters and moments. I already did this at the halfway point of the year, so let’s not waste anytime, join me after the cut as I give you my best, and worst, of anime in 2019.
