About a week a bit ago, I sat down with my fellow blogger Infinite Zenith to discuss the first half of YU-NO: A Girl who chants love at the Bound of this World. It was a great conversation, and now we are back for round 2! We wrap up our look at the series with a discussion on the series second half, and all the madness that takes place!
I won’t rehash my views on Isekai on this post. There are good isekai, and there are great Isekai. The show we are talking about today works because it takes the characters from the ‘big four’ Isekai (Tanya the Evil, Konosuba, Overlord, and ReZero) and smashes them together for comedic fun. That worked damn well last time, but is the shine still around for the season season? Join me after the cut as we dive into Isekai Quartet 2!
Winter 2020 is approaching the final stages. It has been an overall meh start to the year, but that is to be expected since so much is coming later. It’s been eight episodes so far, so join me after the cut as I give you my thoughts so far!
Isekai Quartet is a great series, and the second season, despite a lack of screen time for our new friends from The Rising of the Shield Hero, has been quite good. The opening theme is also really nice. The tune of the week is the opening theme to the second season: Isekai Showtime, sung by the main cast of the four series!
Winter 2020 has begun in earnest now, and most of the series have reached their third or fourth episodes. Overall this is absolutely a weaker outing than previous years, but I have no worries about the year as a whole because it’s looking to be absolutely stacked in the months to follow. The anime I’ve watched has changed a lot since I last did this, so join me after the cut as I give you my three-episode thoughts on the series I’m watching!
Welcome back to Don’t @ Me where, like the annoyance of the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, I rise from the depths to give you my opinions on everything involving the anime industry. Today however I’m going to talk a little bit about myself, while keeping things always related to anime, maybe. Let’s get into it after the cut.
We are in the last few days of 2019, which has turned out to be a pretty decent year after all is said and done. I’ll be posting out my final thoughts/awards for the anime in 2019 after Christmas, but for now I want share with my readers the anime I’ll be watching for the first season of 2020! So far Winter 2020 seems like it’s going to be a slower start, and not many series have caught my eye (compared to how STACKED, Spring 2020 looks). This list is absolutely gonna change as we get close to the launch though. Let’s get into it after the cut!
The Summer season of anime is just about to get started which means we’ve now reached the halfway point for Anime 2019. So far the year has been a bit more subdued than the banner year that was 2018, but there have still been some hits. Join me after the cut as I give you my preliminary bests and worsts of everything anime has offered this year. This list is absolutely subject to change as we still got two seasons left to go!
Isekai Quartetis a show in which the enjoyment you get comes mostly from much you liked the four shows it borrows from. I am on record saying that ReZero is a masterpiece of an anime, and that The Saga of Tanya the Evil is probably freshest and most unique of the major Isekai shows. I’ve said that Konosubais a great comedy that is a playful thumb in the nose of the common tropes, but also just a fun story with some of the best characters around. And Overlordis…well it has a great premise on a familiar concept, but I just can’t get into it. Still 3 out of the 4 is pretty good.
So with all that said, you can probably tell that I liked the mini crossover series starring all four leads and their main cast members. What surprised me though was how much I loved it, and everyone else has. After the cut let’s take a dive into the breakout hit of the year: Isekai Quartet.
The Spring 2019 anime season is heading into the final stretch and it’s been humming along rather well. While this is absolutely a quieter season than the last few, there have been some interesting and fun shows. My thoughts after about eight episodes in are after the cut!
