Don’t @ Me: Eight of my Anime Opinions: Spring 2020 Edition and other Stuff.

Welcome back to Don’t @ Me. The place where, like Hayasaka’s wonder ‘hey, hey’. I burst into a room to give you my thoughts and opinions on pretty much anything in this world of anime, etc, etc, blah blah. Today I’m just talking about the anime I’ve been watching this season, along with some other stuff. So let’s get into it after the cut!

On My Radar for Spring 2020: The Three Episode Check-In!

Despite the mass of cancellations and delays, Spring 2020 has been a pretty solid season so far, despite having a lot of the ‘meat’ pushed back. I’ll admit that my previous list has changed significantly, but it is still time for that three episode check-in! Let’s get into it after the cut!

Tune of the Week(ish): Kaguya-Sama’s DADDY! DADDY! DO!

Like Aimer is for Fate Stay Night, and sweet ARMS is for Date A Live. The work by Masayuki Suzuki is fast becoming a staple of what makes Kaguya-Sama: Love is War work. The first opening theme was the best one in 2019, and while there is some stiff competition so far in 2020, the second has been a worthy successor. The tune of the week is the second opening to the series: DADDY! DADDY! DO! feat. Airi Suzuki by Masayuki Suzuki!

On my Radar for Spring 2020: With Deepest Respect to No Game No Life

Winter 2020 has been a very meh affair. While it has been good for me to watch some shows that have been on the list, that won’t be the case with Spring 2020. The season is looking to be absolutely stacked (though a little less with ReZero being delayed), with so many series getting their second seasons. Expect this list to change, but let’s not waste anytime, join me after the cut as I tell you whats on my radar for Spring 2020!

Quick Thoughts on: Kaguya-Sama: Love is War Season 2 Announcement: Excellent…..

That’s a very good touch….

Image

Surprising in only the fact that it has taken longer than expected. Kaguya-Sama: Love is War joins the already impressive line-up of shows with a second season coming. This is a great thing, and again, it is shocking that it has taken this long. Love is War was a show that I almost dropped at the start, but has ended up not only being my favorite non-ecchi show of the year, but the current front-runner for my anime of 2019. It was an absolutely stellar show with awesome comedy, fun characters and a wholesome romance that was light on melodrama and heavy on the antics. Coupled with a catch theme song and more memes to shake as stick at, it was a given that we would return to this world sooner than later.

If for some reason you haven’t watched this show yet, absolutely go give it a look. It is so far the only anime from early 2019 (aside from Date A Live III) that has stuck in my mind. It is really that fucking good. I can’t wait to watch more if it and see the mind-games between our two leads continue.

Best and Worst of Anime 2019: At the Half

The Summer season of anime is just about to get started which means we’ve now reached the halfway point for Anime 2019. So far the year has been a bit more subdued than the banner year that was 2018, but there have still been some hits. Join me after the cut as I give you my preliminary bests and worsts of everything anime has offered this year. This list is absolutely subject to change as we still got two seasons left to go!

Kaguya-Sama: Love is War: The Complete 180

The “three episode rule” is a standard for Anime fans it seems nowadays. Most people agree that three episodes of a new series are enough to judge whether or not it is good or worth watching. While I believe in that idea somewhat, I also feel that sometimes a show needs more time to establish itself and that dismissing a show too early can rob you of a great experience, and frankly there has been no better example then what we are discussing today. After the cut is my thoughts on the other best anime of the season: Kaguya-Sama: Love is War.
