Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury First Cour: Potential Lesbians in Space!

Now I know there is one more episode in the ‘cour’ left, but since that comes out on Christmas and I want to get a start on these seasonal reviews, you’ll forgive me if I make an exception for this show. There is still plenty to say about it and I have no doubt that a single episode won’t change my views on this anime. This is one that has made a surprising amount of waves this season, which is saying something considering what else is on the docket. Still it has done so and after the cut let’s take a dive into the first cour Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury!

On my Radar for Fall 2022: The (Mostly) Eight Episode Check-In!

Fall 2022 is reaching its climax and it has been an overall strong season overall! Plenty of good shows, some surprises and a few that weren’t as good as you would expect. As always I have my thoughts as we reach the last quarter and it’s time to get into them! So after the cut, let’s see where I stand after eight episodes!

Re-Dive: Knights & Magic: Hobbies of Mass Destruction

It could be argued, rightly or wrongly, that the internet and modern online culture has destroyed the idea of just enjoying your hobby. If you dive yourself into the cesspit of social media, often liking something or enjoying something puts you on one end of the culture war. No longer can people like something, instead you have to make it part of your personality, or defend it against any and all accusations. It’s a difficult and stressful time if you care about such things.

So it is nice when shows like this come out and fully embrace just loving what you love, regardless of any implications or inferences. After the cut, let’s take re-dive into the series Knights & Magic.

My initial post can be found right here!

Four Years of Shallow Dives in Anime: Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragons

Every year I decide to choose a series to celebrate the blog’s anniversary. Often times this is a series that has dogged my footsteps for a long while. A series that settles in my brain and lingers there, begging for me to talk about it. I often use this time to finally dive into that show and give my thoughts, feelings and frankly, just expel it from my system.

The first year, I re-watched Shinmai Maou no Testament and made peace with the series that made me start blogging.

The second year, I looked at Chivalry of a Failed Knight, something that had haunted my mind for almost two years.

The third year, I finally watched all of Neon Genesis Evangelion and gave my thoughts far removed from the mountain of hype that fanbase had thrown on it.

This year, I come to a series that came across my desk and kept a place in my brain ever since. A show that came out during my wilderness years away from anime, yet one I am surprised I hadn’t watched until then. It’s got boobs, it’s got butts, it’s got robots, it’s got lesbians! There is no point in waiting any longer.

Welcome to Shallow Dives in Anime. This is Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragon.

The End of Evangelion: Or How I Stopped Caring and Learned to Drink the Tang

My thoughts on the main series can be found right here!

Jesus fucking Christ.

You may remember that for my third year anniversary for the blog, I decided to finally sit down and watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, easily one of the most influential and significant anime shows in history. My thoughts after it was finished ended up being an acknowledge of that legacy, but also a resounding meh. Of course I hadn’t actually watched the real ending. And ending long considered one of the most out-there, contemplative, theorized, and just ‘what the fuck’ conclusions to a story in the anime world. Now however, I have, and in honor of my first post on the series. Let’s do this right.

Welcome to Shallow Dives in Anime. This is The End of Evangelion.

Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion R2: What started as a Quest for Vengeance ending up with me Geassing God.

This is going to be a different type of blog post, as I’m going to be talking about the ending first, and then giving my thoughts on the rest of the season. Mostly because the ending is the one thing that people can remember from this season while the rest is… Well after the cut let’s take a dive into the second season of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 and see for ourselves.

Eighty-Six Second Cour: How Shin Nouzen Re-Enlisted his Groove Back

Well it sure has been a bit since we look at this haven’t we? Despite being in the closing part of 2021, 86 was a series that apparently needed a little more time to cook in the oven. With the last two episodes pushed back to March we all knew it was going to be a while before we wrapped this series. That time has finally come so after the cut, let’s take a dive into the second half of the series Eighty-Six!

My thoughts on the first half can be found right here!

Infinite Stratos 2: All around the World, Bitches are Falling for Me!

A few months back I gave you my post on Infinite Stratos, a show that is probably the go to example for a basic harem anime, and one is both beloved and unloved because of it. I went on record saying I loved the series and that despite its dumbass protagonist, over-the-top dub, and sometimes fillerish nature. I had some great gags, most of the girls were memorable, and its use of CGI remains a decade ahead of its contemporaries. A guilty pleasure for sure, but one that harem fans can be happy about. But what about the second season? Well after the cut let’s take a dive into Infinite Stratos 2 and find out!
