Even in a lackluster season, there is always one or two anime that stand out. For this show, I think having nothing really else that was ‘omg wow!” has helped it a lot. But I also think that it has allowed this show to get the attention and praise it deserved. After the cut let’s take a dive into the anime series: Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S.
Miss Kobyashi Dragon Maid S has been nothing but wonderful. A superb return to form for a studio that suffered such loss. The music has especially been fun as well, I mean who doesn’t love cute dragon girls dancing and shaking their butts? The Tune of the Week is the ending for the second season: Ending with Dragons by Super Chorogons!
Summer 2021 is winding down! It’s been a very light season and I couldn’t have been happier. These breathers are important for anime fans, as it lets us digest the excellent helpings of before, and get ready for what comes next. Still there have been some fun and decent shows this time around. We are eight episodes in for most of them, so it’s time to get check in after the cut!
The second season of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid had one of the strongest opening pilots I’ve seen in years. I think we all suspected or accepted that due to the tragedy, Kyoto Animation would be excused if the work was not up to par. That thankfully was not the case, because holy shit did they knock it out of the park. The tune of the week is the opening theme to the second season: Ai no Supreme by Fhana!
Spring 2021 is just about finished and it has been a great run, but that also means that Summer 2021 is almost upon us! We have a bunch of cool series and sequels coming, but what am I going to be watching? After the cut let’s see what’s going to be on my radar (at least for now) for Summer 2021!
It’s Monday, which means it is time for this! Welcome back to Don’t @ Me the place where, like Sid from Hey Arnold, I throw my hands in the air and scream STELLA! as I give you my thoughts and opinions on everything related to anime, manga and so forth. Let’s get into it after the cut!
Back when I started this blog, one of my very first posts was on this anime. I’ve come along way since then, and I’ve always felt I needed to come back to this series and give it another look. Or maybe it was just an excuse to watch it again. Either way, join me after the cut as I re-dive into the anime: Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.
It’s September, which means kids are going back to school, but that won’t stop anime opinions from being made. Don’t @ Me returns to slap the homework of 8 more spicy opinions on anything related to anime and manga. Buckle up for it after the cut.
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is a show that is the ultimate comfort food. Funny, touching and with just a hint of those old Sunday Comic strips, this was a show that amassed a huge fanbase and is now getting a second season. The theme song was fun as well, so the Tune of the Week this week is Aozora No Rhapsody by Fhana!
This news is red hot, but I wanted to drop down my quick thoughts on it anyway. While it has been hinted at all weekend, we now have official confirmation that Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maidwill be getting a second anime season this year.
My thoughts exactly
I gave my views on the first season back when I started this blog, but they bear repeating it here. Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is an EXCELLENT feel-good series that is full of great humor, loads of cuteness and is just one of those rare series where you can tune in, tune out and have a great time. It was also probably a show that I thought would never get a second season, but apparently strong fan reception and good sales have made such a thing a reality.
This is good news all around. 2019 hasn’t had many home runs so far with the winter season (aside from Shield Hero and Date A Live III), and the promise of a second season to a beloved property is just the pick-me-up that I think we all needed. A show like Dragon Maidcomes along only once or twice in an anime generation and any chance to spend more time with Kobayashi, Tohru and of course Kanna is welcome in my eyes. If you haven’t seen the series yet, then check it out for sure.
Details are still light, we don’t even know what studio is animating it, but the mere fact we are getting a second season is reason enough to celebrate. I’ll keep my expectations firmly in check, but bring it on.
