It’s Monday, which means it is time for this! Welcome back to Don’t @ Me! The place where, like Alexia and her sister Iris. I give a long monologue about the need to wear a thong as I give my thoughts, views and opinions on the anime industry. This week it’s fucking snowing so I’m gonna talk about the best anime ever, as well as some other stuff. Let’s get into it after the cut.

- Simply put, I don’t think there is such thing as ‘the best anime ever’. The art form is too broad and the genres are too vast for anything to be considered the best of it all. To think that there is something that can be, frankly that’s just being subjective to your own experience.
2. Age I think plays a big part into this. If your some 13-14 year old kid, you probably think *insert shonen here* is the greatest thing ever created. I was the same, I thought Dragon Ball was the most important document ever created by man. We all go through these phases and they are part of growing up with the fandom. The same can be said for theo ther side, I’m sure if you’ve been in this fandom for a good decade and a half, I’m sure your favorite is whatever you loved as a kid. It’s just impossible to be objective.
3. But if I had to be objective, as best as I can be. I do think that, gun to my head, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is probably the best anime. For people who have never seen an anime before. You can probably sit anyone down for that, and you’ll know if they are going to be an anime fan or not. It’s just the best gateway anime you could think of.
4. But the best anime of all time? Really? I don’t think so. It’s great, don’t get me wrong, but again I don’t think it is possible to have a single best anime in this vast, vast genre. Maybe it is just because FMA is the anime of the fan-sub generation, who remains the dominant force in the anime world right now. I wonder what it’ll be like in 10-15 years.
5. My personal favorite anime right now is Unlimited Blade Works, a show I feel is closest to the ‘perfect 10’ as possible. Next is probably High School DxD seasons 1 and 2. But that’s just my view. I’m sure people could sit there and pick apart those shows to death. They ain’t wrong about that, it’s all personal opinion.
6. Though The Eminence in Shadow, that might just be perfect. I mean, who else can do a minute long monologue about wearing a thong? Checkmate motherfuckers.
I remember watching DBZ and Full Metal Alchemist on Cartoon Network with my son a long time ago. Good shows!
Way to many shows in way too many genres and way too many points of view to ever say one is best. There have to be many best anime.
