Three Years of Shallow Dives in Anime: Tune of the Week(ish): High School DxD’s StudyxStudy

There is no song better to celebrate the three years of this blog than my favorite ending theme of all time. One of the great pieces of ED animation ever put to screen. One of the catchiest songs in anime history. A great that stands shoulder to shoulder among all the greats.

Tune of the Week(ish): Girlfriend, Girlfriend’s Fuzaketenai Ze

I’ve been all about Girlfriend, Girlfriend which has been a nice simple harem comedy starring the most earnest guy on the planet and a bunch of classic girls. Nothing special at all, but sometimes you just need that ham and cheese sandwich. The music however has been delightfully unique, I just dig this low-key theme. The Tune of the Week is the opening theme to the series: Fuzaketenai Ze by Necry Talkie!

Tune of the Week: Higurashi SOTSU’s Analogy

I’m fully on board with the new season of Higurashi now. After running around with no real idea for at least half of GOU. The back half of episodes pulled me right back in with a great and fun way to take the story. SOTSU the concluding season of the series has been doing the same thing. And man, that music. The Tune of the Week is the opening theme of the series: Analogy by Ayane!

Tune of the Week(ish): Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S’ Ai no Supreme!

The second season of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid had one of the strongest opening pilots I’ve seen in years. I think we all suspected or accepted that due to the tragedy, Kyoto Animation would be excused if the work was not up to par. That thankfully was not the case, because holy shit did they knock it out of the park. The tune of the week is the opening theme to the second season: Ai no Supreme by Fhana!
