I’ve recently been watching Akame ga Kill, a show that was sold to me as the quintessential “I’m 13 and this is deep” series. I’m about halfway through and the jury is still very much out on that. However as I am watching I keep finding myself going back to another show of the same vein: Mirai Nikki. I’ve given my thoughts on the series before, and they were middling, but I figured now is a good as any time for another post like this! So after the cut, let’s talk about what I loved, liked, disliked and hated about the series Mirai Nikki!

It’s got a little bit of everything and there is much to enjoy and not enjoy. And while I’ve said my piece, I also think it would be fun to do one of these! I Heard you Like Lists: Five Anime I don’t really care for

I don’t do negative stuff on Shallow Dives in Anime. There is too much of it on the internet. But that doesn’t mean I don’t call things like it is. I love a lot of anime, but there are some that I just really don’t give a fuck about. This is a list of that stuff, but with thoughts and ideas that I think are fair and balanced. So let’s get into it after the cut.

Hit it with your 3×3! Sharing my Favorite Anime

Hey Guys.

A list of my favorite anime is not new on this blog, and frankly it hasn’t changed that much. However there hasn’t been a blog event in a long while so I figure it is time to do something. I’ve been listening to the Trash Taste Podcast, and they’ve a few episodes where they discuss their ‘3×3’, or the anime/manga/etc that are defining and important to them. I figured, why doesn’t the WordPress blogging crew try it out?

Here are the rules.

1. List your 3×3. It has to be a total of nine titles. (I used https://bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php as mine)
2. They can be manga, anime, light novels, whatever.
3. Include an explanation (if you want) of why you chose them!

I heard you like lists: Five anime ideas that I’d think would be cool.

As I’ve said before, the best thing about anime, one of its (many) secret sauces, is the ability to take any idea or concept and make it compelling. Yes there are many clunkers, but when an anime hits it right, it can really hit it right. How many thought a series about working at a burger place would be compelling? The Devil is a Part Timer says yes. An anime about girls fighting with their boobs and butts? Keijo!! says hi. A story about one dude being a bartender? Look no further than Bartender. And the list goes on. But there are some ideas that I think would be really cool that (to my knowledge) haven’t been done yet. After the cut, let’s take a look at five of my own ideas!
